In honor of Black History Month, HealthCall staff and families volunteered with Focus: HOPE to pack food boxes for the community on Saturday, February 15, 2025. We chose Focus: HOPE for our annual Black History Month volunteering event because of its powerful mission and legacy. Since 1968, Focus: HOPE has pledged intelligent and practical action to combat racism, poverty, and injustice. Their mission states:
“Recognizing the dignity and beauty of every person, we pledge intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty, and injustice. And to build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust, and affection. With special consideration for history, economic station, place, culture, faith, sexual orientation, gender, and race.”
