Description: The Diagnostician participates in the delivery of autism evaluation services within HealthCall’s Behavioral Services division. In collaboration with the Medical Director and diagnostic team, the Diagnostician seeks to enable each client to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. They collaborate with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support, and coordinate client care and to represent the best interests of HealthCall and the people we serve.

  • Location: This Diagnostician position is part of HealthCall’s mobile diagnostic team. Appointments occur at HealthCall’s Royal Oak clinic as well as at the County Mental Health Authority offices in Livingston County, Lenawee County, and Washtenaw County.
  • Schedule: Part-time position, 1 – 3 days per week. Work is available Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.  All diagnostic evaluations are conducted with clients / families face-to-face (no telehealth).
  • Compensation: This is a part–time, hourly position, plus mileage reimbursement. Medical, dental, and vision benefits available to staff members working thirty (30) hours per week or more. 401K plan available. Minimum Requirement/Skills Required:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Candidates must hold one of the below license types:
    • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with training, experience, or expertise in ASD and / or behavioral health.
    • Physician Assistant with training, experience, or expertise in ASD and / or behavioral health.
    • Clinical Social Worker qualified and experienced in diagnosing ASD.
    • Psychologist (LLP, LP).
  • Prior completion of ADOS-2 training (Modules 1 – 4 and toddler module) – Preferred.
  • Prior training and experience with diagnostic tools, including the M-CHAT, SCQ, ADI-R and ADOS-II – Preferred.
  • Unencumbered license or limited license to practice in the State of Michigan required.
  • One or more years of experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Experience with pediatric care and autism services strongly preferred.
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
  • Valid and current state driver’s license and insurance.
